Founded in 1996 by the non-profit Institute for Agriculture & Trade Policy (IATP), Peace Coffee was initially run out of their basement as a for-profit entity to purchase coffee at fair prices and create a market to sell it in the Midwest and beyond. This supported their mission to advocate for family farms around the globe.

We're starry-eyed dreamers who believe in bicycle power, being nice, and bringing neighbors, farmers, and the community together. We believe that collaboration works wonders, and that passion and honesty, and a really great cup of coffee can make the world a better place. And when that coffee is sustainably grown and freshly roasted to bring out the best in every bean, well, that's when the real magic happens.

What makes our products unique? We work with farmer partners from bean to brew to create outstanding coffees that are approachable and consistently delicious! Why do we love what we do? We roast coffee daily in an organic and SQF certified facility. Our Quality Team tastes all of our offerings at different points in the process to ensure freshness, flavor, and consistency.

At Peace Coffee, our priorities are our People, our Practice, and our Product. Supporting small-scale farmers around the world, and our employees at home, we build direct long-term relationships with farmer cooperatives, which offer powerful economies of scale for otherwise marginalized farmers. We donate three cents per bag to the Climate, Carbon and Coffee fund to support coffee producers to combat climate change. All of our employees receive competitive pay and supportive benefits.

We believe in minimizing our impact on the planet and giving back to our communities. We reduce our carbon footprint by delivering a 1/3 of our coffee by bicycle year-round. As the first B Corp Certified coffee company in Minnesota, we proudly consider people, profit, and the planet to be equally important to our success. Our green headquarters located in the heart of Minneapolis includes geothermal heating, solar power, and a rooftop garden with beehives.

All our coffee is certified organic, shade grown, and hand-harvested. Our roasters apply decades of roasting experience to craft memorable coffees for aficionados and novices alike.
